When applied in dilution, Basil is reputed to be a good insect repellent, while the mild analgesic properties are known to help to relieve insect bites and stings.
Quick Tip #1: To ease the itch of a mosquito bite, blend 1 drop Sweet Basil and 1 drop carrier oil. Rub into the bite.
Quick Tip #2: To relieve a mild earache put a bit of carrier oil onto a cotton ball. Add 2 drops of Sweet Basil to the cotton ball. Use to plug the ear. You can also massage this blend behind and around the outside of the ear. Please be sure to see a doctor for an earache accompanied by a fever or if there is severe pain, as you may need antibiotics.
